A superb reef type dive site with a pinnnacle at 8m and deep rocky gullies leading off down to 25m max. This is the favourite site of many local diving instructors as it offers wildlife, photography opportunities and impressive scenery.
Max Depth: Anything from 8m-25m depending on where you drop and what you want.
Viz: Generally 6 - 8m, at best 20m+ although bad weather will make it worse.
Orientation: A pinnacle leading to the main seabed often with strong currents which mean finishing the dive with a deep drift.
Buoy LinesNone, please use a shot for descent and a Delayed SMB for the ascent. Known for strong currents with passing yacht traffic. Delayed SMBs per diver are essential.
Areas of interest
The whole site is interesting, with great swim throughs between rocky gullies leading off from the pinnacle. There is a small cave on the North East corner.
No Take Zone
Not in a conservation area, but we still operate a No Take policy.
Life you could see
Below 18m, Sea Fans, Rose Coral and Yellow Sponges. Across the whole site you can sometimes find lobsters, crayfish, along side plenty of dogfish and wrasse. There are plenty of sea urchins and starfish of all types and sea cucumbers everywhere. Thornback rays can sometimes be found resting in the sand. Jul - Aug if you look closely and are lucky we often find Spanish Dancers (nudibranchs) under the kelp.
