Suunto D6i Black Dive Computer

The Suunto D6i Black is a stylish new all black version of the highly popular and very high spec Suunto D6i dive computer. The feature set is identical to the flagship Suunto D9tx without the trimix function. However the D6i Black still has the ability to switch between a choice of three nitrox mixes that are between 21 and 99% oxygen, this makes it perfect for use in the diving range of Advanced nitrox and deco procedures where you would typically use air as a bottom gas and something like 50% nitrox as a decompression gas. Although packed full of the latest diving technology the D6i black is stylish enough to be worn as an every wrist watch, looking great in the office, on your wrist whilst diving and later in the pub where you can show off your dive profile with the graph function in the logbook.

Innovative 3D tilt compensated digital compass now means that all of your required navigational tools are in one, complete package. You can be confident in the validity of the given bearing thanks to the tilt compensation, no longer do you have to try and get your compass in that difficult 'sweet spot' to get the needle to move. The D6i black features cardinal marks, lockable bearings and directional arrows to guide you precisely in the right direction, not many other manufactures can provide you with such a feature rich digital compass.

When paired with an optional air pressure transmitter the Suunto D6i black also shows you your cylinder pressure, with one glance you can make critical decisions taking into account depth, time and cylinder pressure in one hit.

The Suunto D6i Black features a total of four operating modes:

Air mode:

When set to Air mode the D6i All Black is a standard and decompression dive computer utilising the full RGBM Suunto decompression model. This algorithm provides the user with a precise ascent which is continually updated throughout the dive. The optional deep stops provide short paused around the middle of the ascent phase, this helps to reduce bubble formation making your ascents safer and more complete decompression.

Nitrox mode:

Nitrox mode allows the use of a accelerated decompression thanks to it three gas function. This allows the user to set three different nitrox mixes which each can contain between 21 and 99% oxygen. The user can also set PPO₂ limits for these gasses for extra safety. The D6i black RGBM continually processes a variety of different ascents depending on when or if you switch to an enriched nitrox mix, it is ready to safely get you to the surface regardless of gas mixtures.

Gauge mode:

Gauge mode allows dives of all levels all the precise dive monitoring information they need without the fuss. In gauge mode the D6i All Black functions as a bottom timer, with depth, time, average depth, accurate profile sampling and bookmarking functions. The resettable timer shows in minutes and seconds, this makes ascents with multiple stops a breeze.

Free diving mode:

The Suunto D6i black samples depth three times a second, this means that at glance you know whether you have beaten your personal best. This faster sampling time more accurately reflects your true depth reached than slower sampling computers.
