With the purchase of an optional wireless cylinder transmitter the D4i yellow can display your current gas pressure. The D4i yellow is also monitoring your breathing rate, great for future use when gas planning, but also during the dive as the D4i is able to calculate how long your given supply will last can will adjust your no stop time accordingly. With one look at their wrist a user can see their depth, dive time and cylinder pressure.
The Suunto D4i is highly legible thanks to the use of a dot-matrix display. A dot-matrix display makes better use of the available screen space to provide large digits that are pin sharp, showing the information you need clearly, never will you need to double take your computer screen again. The screen also features an electro-luminescent back light so you can read the vital information in complete darkness. The mineral glass screen is extremely scratch resistant ensuring that the screen remains scratch less also goes along way to ensuring the readability of the computer.
With a choice of air, nitrox and freediving modes the D4i can be setup for the exact dive at hand. The nitrox mode allows the user to select a gas mix between 21 and 50% oxygen to make the best use of enriched oxygen gas mixtures, the PO2 limit can also be set between 0.5 and 1.6 bar. Both air and nitrox modes utilise the tried and tested Suunto RGBM decompression model, the yellow D4i is continuously monitoring the dives profile and creating the correct ascent profile at the same time. When used on deeper dives the RGBM utilises deep stop to further enhance safety on the ascent.
