The DIR Zone complete suit inflation system comes with everything you need to add an alternative source of suit inflation gas to your system. The system includes a 1 litre steel cylinder, mounting straps for attachment to a backplate, suit inflation first stage complete with OPV and a 56cm / 24" LP hose. An alternative source of suit inflation is vital when using gasses containing helium. Helium, if added to a drysuit will draw heat away from the diver making them cool more quickly than if using air, this system from DIRZone provides a robust and simple source of safe suit inflation gas.

Helium, being less dense than air has the ability to draw heat away from a diver. Typically deeper diving requires the use of trimix and also longer run times, most of which is spent hanging still on decompression stops. Therefore it is important for a diver to try and stay as warm as possible, obviously choosing the correct exposure protection is the first step to staying warm but choosing the correct gas to inflate your suit with is also very important. Air or even better still Argon, which is much denser than air and therefore keeps you even warmer, are a much safer choice than helium mixtures.
