Plymouth is surrounded by wrecks of trawler come minesweepers requisitioned by The British Navy, and the ELK is a superb example. We don't dive this site so often, but will get some pictures and more info up soon.
This site is amazing, one of the only places where we often get "gin clear" water. Depth is deceptive and it is very easy to go deeper than you intended. However the variety of life is good all round the huge granite boulders and walls that drop right down. It is wholely possible to do a shallow dive here staying in the the lee of the current, sheltering between the rocks that rise up to form the base of the new Eddystone Lighthouse. However we do count this as an Advanced dive and only those confident in their ability should dive here.
This site is definitely the best reef that the area has to offer, you can compare it directly with the manacle in Cornwall, and I reckon we win. Again depth is deceptive, but the life is the best I've seen on the South Coast.
Max Depth: Anything from 9m-70m depending on where you drop and what you want.
