The Northern Diver trim weight system is a harness design aimed at distributing weight to ensure comfort whilst benifiting from an improved postion in the water. Diving in colder waters such as the UK often means it's necessary to wear a lot of lead which; if just worn around the waist on a belt can be uncomfortable. The trim system comes into its own because it enables the diver to distribute weight more evenly around the body, this makes wearing the weight more comfortable. Because the weight is distributed more evenly it also gives the diver better "Trim" or swimming position.
The system has a loyal following here at Aquanauts. As well as distributing weight more evenly the system also has handy pockets which can be used for carrying weights or cargo. The harness also provides extra points to attatch accessories such as a dive knife, reel or SMB.
