The Suunto Zoop now in orange is simple and easy to use.
The Suunto Zoop is perfect as a first dive computer, it does have a full decompression algorithm and nitrox mode so is good for most recreational divers. We use the Zoop as our main school computer and have found that they are more than tough enough to deal with hundreds of dives a year and all of the punishment that hire equipment gets put through.

The battery should last for between 2 - 3 years with moderate use. It is also possible to change the battery yourself so long as you ensure the O ring is correctly in place. If you don't want to do it yourself then you can simply drop your Zoop into a Suunto dealer and for a small fee they will do it for you. When changing the battery we recommend using the Suunto battery kit.
Zoop - how to use
Navigating through each mode is easy with the 3 buttons that the Zoop has, operating the computer is also very intuitive so it wont take you long to master it. If you forget it comes with a laminated quick reference guide that could live happily in your dive bag for reference. You can wear the Zoop as a wrist unit, or mount it on one of Suunto's Combo consoles.
Proven deco using the Suunto RGBM model
All the relevant deco information, ascent times, stop times, depth limits etc are displayed either as large obvious figures or along a colour coded bar.The Suunto RGBM algorithm is built to manage continuous decompression throughout an ascent therefore making sure you ascend with the most efficient and safe profile. The Suunto Zoop also has flashing visual and audible beeping alarms for deco which you can also set for depth and or time limits.
Using the Zoop to plan dives
This computer allows you to set upcoming dives to work out dive plans ahead of time. So you could be sat on the dive boat eating your lunch and working out your next dive before you dive it. By pressing the plan button and then choosing surface intervals and depths you can see what your no stop times will be.
