The Suunto Zoop is pretty much a strap on and go computer. It uses the tried and tested Suunto RGBM deco model, it can be set to use with nitrox, you can download dive details to your PC and it will glow in the dark for a period when charged with a torch. This computer is aimed at the diver looking for an excellent budget computer that covers all the bases.
With moderate use (say 50 - 100 dives per year) you can expect 2 - 3 years battery life. The battery itself is user changeable, and it is pretty easy to do as long as you are careful and ensure that the new O-ring is properly in place. Or you can take it into any Suunto dealer who can do this for a small charge. The Zoop uses a standard Lithium CR2450, but it's when it's time to change battery it's best to buy the Suunto battery kit so that you also get the correct sized O-ring and replacement latch.

Zoop - how to use
This computer has 3 buttons, Mode/Select, with navigation up and down through the simple menu structures completed by pressing the plan and time buttons. It is an intuitive and easy to use menu system. However, with much fewer buttons than a remote control, and a laminated quick reference guide that could live happily in your dive bag, it won't take long to learn. You can wear the Zoop as a wrist unit, or mount it on one of Suunto's Combo consoles.
Proven deco using the Suunto RGBM model
The Suunto RGBM algorithm is built to manage continuous decompression throughout an ascent therefore making sure you ascend with the most efficient and safe profile. All the relevant deco information, ascent times, stop times, depth limits etc are displayed either as large obvious figures or along a colour coded bar. There are also flashing visual and audible beeping alarms for deco which you can also set for depth and or time limits.
Using the Zoop to plan dives
This computer allows you to set upcoming dives to work out dive plans ahead of time. So you could be sat on the dive boat eating your lunch and working out your next dive before you dive it. By pressing the plan button and then choosing surface intervals and depths you can see what your no stop times will be.
