TDI Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures

Advanced Nitrox is a course designed for divers who want to make use of custom mixes of Nitrox and Air to maximise their bottom time and reduce their Decompression whilst diving between 10m and 45m using up-to 40%EANX as a "bottom gas" and 50% EANXfor decompression. This course is designed to extend the diver's knowledge in the use of EANx for recreational diving. Further developing skills and a greater understanding of the EANx concept of diving, using EANx mixes of 21% - 100%.

This course is run over 2 weekends with six dives. 

Prerequisite: PADI Rescue Diver + Basic Nitrox

Prerequisites:- Basic EANx diver with a minimum of 15 logged Nitrox dives or have experience as a deep air diver with a minimum of 50 dives, including 10 between 27m and 39m. Must be aged 15 or over.

Course Content

EAD concept

Oxygen physiology

% CNS 02 & Pulmonary toxicity trackin

Use of EAD's

Use of EANx as a decompression gas

Gas switching technique

Partial pressures and best mixes

Written exam Open water work

Experience dives using various nitrox mixes

Deployment of delayed SMB

Decompression Techniques

Equipment Requirements

Standard personal Diving equipment is required, with the following specialist kit.

Pony Bottle and Regulator assembly Suitable for EANX up-to 50%

Delayed Marker Buoy and Reel

Course fees include Manual (boats and gas not included) 

Some equipment is available for rental, contact the Centre for more information.
