Good solid twins, Apeks manifold worth itReview by Andrew
Very happy with this set, which I took with the Apeks manifold upgrade.

As food for thought, there is an ‘Apeks’ branded twinset for sale which has the Apeks manifold, but the corners have been cut with cheap Czech cylinders which weigh a kilo less each than these eurocylinders for some mysterious reason, and I’m told the finish isn’t so good.

The BTS tank bands are wide and good on this set (6 cm, but somehow look bigger and are certainly enough), and come with nice delrin nuts to fix the bp. I took the Apeks manifold due to bad experiences with neglected BTS valves, which were so stiff they made me feel arthritic on valve shutdowns. The Apeks knobs pretty much roll in your hands (once pressurized).

I guess I’ve dived a fair bit with this set now. I’d doubt the supposed extra weight balance at the bottom makes much difference – I wear my tanks very far forward anyhow, and there are so many other factors like how much air you kick into your drysuit legs, or the extra weight I have at the top for my winter undersuit. But what I can say is that I do like the flat bottoms. The other day I popped out of an ice hole, shuffled back a bit and slipped out of the harness with the bottles standing. Donned it the same way.

The uprightness isn’t totally guaranteed (well, yes, goes without saying), so be careful how you leave them on uneven ground. The reason I mention this is that I once did a cringe-worthy thing where I left them upright in the back of my my estate car to don them, the car was on a very, very gentle slope, and yes when I tottered off to do something they jumped out the car. I can however testify to the strength of the manifold knob, which hit the ground first.

So, I chose this set due to a quality cylinder coupled with a quality, very easy manifold after enduring the pain and un-joy of poor manifolds. The cylinder finish is holding up and I like the practicality of the flat bottoms (even when filling). The Apeks manifold is a joy to use. It was worth it to me and a logical choice, especially because I hope to be using them for many years.

Quality Twinset & ManifoldReview by James
Was recommended these Flat Bottom Euro 12l Cylinders by a friend who has been diving with them for over 2 years.
Just getting into twin set diving so went with my friends recommendation and 100% glad I did.
Shop communication and value for money was 1st class as I also order 2x Apex XTX 200 reg's.
I opted for the Apeks manifold and again 100% impressed with the quality.
Delivery was tracked and bang on time although due to weight I had to help the delivery driver with them through my door.
Extremely well packaged and once out of the box look fantastic.
Cant wait to rig the rest of the new stuff up and start getting them wet at the end of the month.
Thanks again guys. (Posted on 10/04/2016)
looking good.Review by Bleddyn
The twins came back today so my kit is now set up and ready to be played with.
Came very well packed which was nice to see. Even nicer out of the box.
Even though empty I was shocked with the weight, they felt quite light (I'm used to using fabers)
Even though they have not been tried out yet I am very pleased. But.... I may have to loosen the band's and heighten the cylinders a fraction to sit a little higher up my back. (I will test them as they are first though)
Thanks to everyone at aquanauts. (Posted on 15/09/2015)
Very Pleased!Review by Tony
After seeing a lot of people diving twins and wanting to progress into wreck diving, decided to go for my own twin set. Advised recommended the Euros for the ease of reach for shutting down and with the flat bottoms, no hassle putting them down.

Very please with my twinset which arrived very quickly - excellent service from the guys at Aquanauts (Posted on 14/05/2015)
Great twinsetReview by JD
Great twinset, value for money.

The extra length and weight gets you really trimmed underwater, and the valves and manifold turn smoothly which is great for drills and if you have an free flow or an issue with the manifold!

Top piece of equipment! (Posted on 23/09/2014)
Nice Product & PriceReview by Dominic
I've been diving these for nearly a year now and they are much nicer in the water than my old Fabers. The flat bottoms really helped to trim out my rig. (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Great valueReview by Tony
I purchased these recently and opted to go for the Halcyon manifold. It's sweet and easy to close / open underwater.

Great products and great service.

Be warned - they are _heavy_ they aren't really flat bottomed, but concave. This means that although obviously they stand and the bottoms don't appear curved, there is additional metal in there for strength. Empty, each one is coming in at around 15kg. With air, that' around 17-17.5kg per cylinder plus the manifold & bands - I haven't weighed the bands but given they're wide, stainless steel there must be several hundred grams in there.

All of which actually goes to enhance the feeling of quality - there's no way the cylinders are moving/twisting in those bands.

I found that they came in pretty much the perfect position for me and when slotted into the top 'o' slot of my backplate position them just about perfectly for shutdowns. If it helps, I am 6'1" tall.

Service from Aquanauts was fantastic. Although it turned out that the Halcyon manifolds weren't in stock, they called me to give me the option of waiting or have the BTS ones fitted.

As I opted to wait, it came down to the wire for delivery for use on a weekend of diving, but despite the fact they refunded the next-day delivery costs due to the delay, Aquanauts went that extra mile and sent them out next-day on the Thursday, so they arrived in time to use. They also responded politely on the phone when I rang in a bit of a panic because the O2 clean / service stickers had dropped into the bottom of the box under some packaging and I thought they were missing completely (I'm sure that gave them a chuckle and given how accurately they described where they'd gone, it isn't the first time someone has called!).

All in all I am incredibly happy with them and cannot recommend Aquanauts enough. (Posted on 04/06/2014)
