The AP Valves Intermediate Pressure Gauge is a really useful tool that allows your to check that your regulator is functioning as it should. Over time as a regulator wears the high pressure seat becomes more worn allowing creep, this means the pressure between the first and second stage rises over time until your second stages start hissing when attached to a cylinder. The AP Valves Intermediate Pressure Gauge simply plugs into a BC or Drysuit hose and reads the pressure between the first and second stage. Doing this check on your regulators every two weeks or so will allow you to judge whether you regulators are in need of some TLC or a functioning correctly. This check is especially important for rebreather divers to ensure that their solenoid can function correctly.
