An entirely new IDC concept. The pay-as-you go PADI IDC!
We can't get in the water at the moment so we thought we would try and come up with ideas that kept you entertained and us doing what we do best - teaching diving! So the Pay-as-you-go IDC was born!
We have taken the PADI Instructor Development course and split it in 2: Dry stuff and Wet stuff!
The dry section of the course will be run via zoom twice a week in the evenings. You will need to commit to those days and times - but we can be flexible so just let us know if you can’t do a particular session.
Once we have completed the dry section we will then be doing 6 face to face sessions to complete the pool and open water work. Some of these are full days, others half depending on the schedule.
PAYMENT: Up front you will need to buy a Crewpack and pay for the first Zoom session - Zoom 1.
There are 2 kinds of crewpack: The MODULAR IDC Crewpack (£250 + £250) or the full IDC Crewpack (£475). They are the same product but the Modular one has been split in two to allow you to pay for it in 2 parts.
After that you pay for each Zoom or face to face session prior to it happening - at least 48 hours in advance.
* We do recommend the you also get the PADI Online Theory product. It's absolutely not mandatory but it will help you hugely with the theory. You can add it to your basket below.
About the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC)
Why become an instructor? Follow your dreams, pass the passion on to others, be dive-bound not desk-bound! Clearly you love diving or you wouldn't have got to this far and you're here because you want to go that step further.
Full-time or Part-time, warm-water or more temperate climes, it matters not. Teaching diving is just incredible.
So how do you get there?
First you need to do the Instructor Development Course or IDC. Done by a PADI Course Director this will give you all the knowledge and skills you need to go on to teach.
Having passed the IDC you need to go on to The Instructors Exams. or IE. The IE is run by PADI and makes sure you know you're stuff!
You need to pass the IDC to go on to the IE (Instructor Exams) and you need to pass these to become a PADI Instructor. So not an easy task but rewarding beyond belief.
Frankly we’ll be teaching you everything you need to know to be a successful PADI Instructor. A toolbox full of teaching skills, diving skills, techniques and knowledge. Your will know your way around the PADI system, how to problem solve, schedule, cost, organise and courses. And most importantly of all teach diving to the highest of standards.
