The Buddy SMBCi from AP Valves is quick and easy to deploy from depth making it a very popular choice for those who regularly need to deploy an SMB.
The Buddy SMBCiis a hallmark of British diving, extremely popular due to its ease of deployment and guaranteed to be fully inflated at the surface. It must be noted that the 0.1L 232bar mini cylinder must be filled from a gas source containing at least 180 bar for the SMB to be fully inflated at the surface. At 1.4m long and 20cm wide the Buddy SMBCi is easily seen in even the worst diving conditions, visibility can be further improved by attaching a strobe or glow stick to the brass eyelet at the very top of the SMB. Popular with technical divers as it saves valuable mixed gas sources for breathing rather than inflating an SMB and rebreather divers as they have no simple method to inflate an SMB with a second stage. The Buddy SMBCi is fitted with a one way baffle that allows the SMB to be filled with a second stage if you forget to fill the mini-cylinder, the baffle ensures that SMB remains fully at the surface for maximum visibility.
The Buddy SMBCi is available with a mini-cylinder that can either be attached to a DIN or a-clamp fitting cylinder, please specify your preference when ordering. The AP Valves crack bottle SMB is available in all red (standard UK diving colour), all yellow or one side red and one side yellow.
