This course is something special because it teaches you to become a safe diver and to focus on the safety and welfare of other divers. It will show you how to recognise and prevent a diving accident, and how to respond if one occurs. As well as giving you the skills to know how to identify and adapt if your own dive isn't going quite to plan.
The course emphasises flexibility and adapting the diver to personal and environmental conditions.
The word "RESCUE" sounds to you a tiring and exhausting course. Maybe you think it is for "strong" people? Although we will push you a little, and be teaching you new skills, the course has a flexible approach and is tailored to show how any person of any size can organise and facilitate the rescue of anyone.
The PADI Rescue Course makes this serious subject of accident prevention enjoyable and rewarding.
Two day course, three if including First Aid training:
Day 1: EFR If needed.
Day 2: Rescue exercises 1 - 6 and scenario 1
Day 3: Rescue exercises 7 - 10 and scenario 2
At Aquanauts, we have and use all the equipment required in teaching Rescue Divers. Rescue lines, slates, oxygen appliances, first aid kits, manuals and other materials will be used by you during training.
To join the Rescue Diver Course someone should be Advanced Diver or have equivalent certificate of another organisation. Training in CPR during the last 2 years is also required.
If you do not have a current first aid certificate you will need to compete the PADI Emergency First Responder course. This is normally run the day before a Rescue course starts.
