Scubapro Galileo Luna Dive Computer
The Scubapro Galileo Luna allows the user to create a computer that perfectly suits their needs. When paired with an optional pressure transmitter the Luna can display a divers remaining tank pressure, this allows a diver to see all of their dive critical information with one quick look at their wrist. The Galileo Luna Dive Computer also features a built in digital compass for easy, accurate navigation. All of this critical information is displayed on one of the largest screens in dive computer design, the screen uses dot-matrix technology for pin sharp characters. The user can select between three different display modes depending on the amount of information that they require at a given time, the Luna allows the user to choose between a screen with larger digits with less information or smaller digits displaying more information.
The decompression algorithm used in the Galileo Luna utilises Profile Dependant Intermediate Stops or PDIS for short. PDIS makes use of short pauses deeper in the ascent to improve decompression efficiency in the shallows for safer ascents and more effective decompression. Alarms such as maximum depth and time can be programmed onto the Luna, these warnings are displayed clearly on the large dot-matrix display in a multitude of languages, one of which is chosen by the diver. The Galileo Luna has a memory that is good for 100 hours of dive profile data and can also hold up to 100 bitmap images of dive site maps for accurate diver orientation. The battery of the Luna can easily be changed by the user.
Predictive Multi-Gas Upgrade
This optional extra upgrade allows the Luna to use up to three different nitrox mixtures between 21 and 100% O2. If the PMG upgrade is added the Luna calculates all the possible combinations of the gasses that are programmed into it, it therefore keeps the diver safe at all times regardless of which cylinder is breathed at any point of the dive as it is continually adjusts your decompression schedule. A deco summary screen gives an overview of the current decompression calculations with regards the gasses used during that dive.
Heart Rate Monitor Upgrade
Scubapro teamed up with Polar, world leaders in heart monitoring equipment, to provide a means of the Galileo Luna to utilise the divers heart rate. Not only in the Luna capable of monitoring and recording heart rate during a dive but it also uses the divers heart rate to adjust the decompression schedule depending on the divers work rate. The HRM upgrade is also useful for freedivers as it allows a minimum heart rate alarm to be set warning the diver if their heart rate drops below a set level.
