With a choice of air, nitrox and freediving modes the D4i can be setup for the exact dive at hand. The nitrox mode allows the user to select a gas mix between 21 and 50% oxygen to make the best use of enriched oxygen gas mixtures, the PO2 limit can also be set between 0.5 and 1.6 bar. Both air and nitrox modes utilise the tried and tested Suunto RGBM decompression model, the yellow D4i is continuously monitoring the dives profile and creating the correct ascent profile at the same time. When used on deeper dives the RGBM utilises deep stop to further enhance safety on the ascent.
